Ah, my fanfiction mind is going into overdrive with the possibilities! It reminds me of a TV show I watched recently, where a well-off girl was married to a husband who abused her. She was in a new land and she felt all alone, so she found solace with the stable boy and they fell in love.
Anyway, really good job! I don't know why you think the background is horrible—I love it! The soft pinks and purples of the sky go so well with all the other colors, and the flowers of the garden are just so cute!
